With ALMAD Systems

Iain Wallace now accompanies ALMAD Systems, a French company that accompanies small and medium-sized businesses as they develop custom software. His role is the company’s own next step: new markets, and in particular the United Kingdom.

Software that adapts, and stays simple

Small and medium-sized businesses rarely lack software. They lack software willing to follow the way they already work.

ALMAD builds that kind of system, with them. Custom, because the process belongs to the company. Simple, because people have to be able to live with it every week. Adapted to the process already in place, because that process is the thing worth protecting.

The discipline ALMAD helps its clients hold is less is more. It is a rule for what the software is allowed to contain. A feature stays when it serves the work. When it asks the business to become more complicated in order to use it, it has not earned its place.

The offer is software shaped to the work, kept simple enough that a company can maintain a less-is-more approach in what it actually runs.

Accompanying the company, as well as its clients

ALMAD accompanies its clients. Iain accompanies ALMAD.

He is there for the company’s own development: taking a precise offer into markets where it is not yet known. A new market brings new buyers, new objections, and a reasonable pressure to add whatever the last conversation seemed to require. Held with care, the offer stays what it is. Software that fits the client’s process. Simple enough to live inside the working week. Still a short list, even after the market has had its say.

That is the passage Iain stays for. The positioning. The conversations. The decisions about where the offer already holds, and where it has to be proved again.

The United Kingdom

The market in front of ALMAD is the United Kingdom.

A French company bringing custom software into the UK has to be exact about three things: which businesses it is for, what the software will remain, and why a British company would choose a partner whose first discipline is restraint — only as much system as the process can carry.

The work is concrete. It is how ALMAD describes itself, whom it sits down with, and which parts of the offer are ready to travel and which ones still need evidence from the market rather than confidence from inside the company.

Iain accompanies ALMAD on that development. Notably, into the UK.

Stated plainly

ALMAD Systems is a French company. It accompanies small and medium-sized businesses in developing custom software, so they can keep a less-is-more approach: software that adapts to their processes, and stays simple.

Iain Wallace accompanies ALMAD as the company develops into new markets. The market that matters now is the United Kingdom.
